My experience at Buildex Conference and Exposition

von Bill Chihata

I had a chance to attend the Buildex show this year in Vancouver on February 8 – 9th. The show was a great success with many of our customers dropping by to see our booth.

Our booth was 10’x10’ and we displayed our structural thermal break element Schöck Isokorb®, our glass fibre reinforcement Schöck ComBAR® and our Bole® shear studs. However, most customers were mainly interested in our Isokorb® and our thermal break technology.

BUILDEX Vancouver is one of Canada’s largest tradeshow and conference, welcoming over 13,000 Design, Construction and Real Estate Management professionals each year. Over 600 exhibits and more than 50 educational seminars impact THREE distinct professional markets, all under one roof:

  • Interior design and architecture
  • Property and real estate management
  • Construction and renovation

The real star of this show was Alex Krenczik. He delivered a very nice presentation on “A Future-Proof Building Envelope: Latest Research and Technology”. The presentation was fully booked a week before the show started and almost all those attended the presentation passed by the booth to check out our Isokorb® product. Most people said that Alex was very knowledgably and very funny as well.

Alex – I think you will make it to Hollywood one day as a show host… lol

I certainly recommend that we participate in this show again.
